Shakti Olaizola was born on September 1987 in Gipuzkoa.
Since she was little she had a big passion for painting, drawing, moulding and also dancing. She's licensed in Fine Art and during the degree she discovered circus. This took a turn to her creativity and provided her the body as a new and interesting tool. She discovered contortion with Ane Miren, in which she spezialized and what would make her decide to make circus a way of life. She has also trained dance, clown and acrobatics in Bilbao, Madrid, Barcelona, Buenos Aires (Argentina) and Espace Catastrophe in Brussels.
She started working in different projects in Basque Country until she undertake her own individual project in 2012 and created a short act called “Irakurtzen”. In 2013 she started creating "Irakurriz" and received the support of Pyrénées de Cirque project. She made the premiere in Umore Azoka Street Theatre Festival 2014 in Leioa. After she has been in several festivals in Spain, Europe and Latin America.
In 2016 she started with her last creation “Baldin Bada” with Joseba Negro musician. A proposal that mixes circus, music and painting. They made the premiere in Umore Azoka Street Theatre Festival 2017 in Leioa. It has already gone over several festivals in Spain and received the second prize in Circada Festival in Seville.
